I just had a dream it’s been an ongoing dream. It starts off at a therapist center. My son is a very young child. I’m more going to talk to a therapist about his dad not being there. There is a terrarium of fish and lizards. The lizards seem to get out every night. I go to pick up a lizard and it puffs his wings at me to keep me away. My son’s dad shows up at some point. my mom is there, but his father is not cooperating after doing this for months and months. I think everybody decides that they’re just tired of trying to get him to cooperate. I’ve pick up my son and I hold him. My son tells me he feels safe here and he lays his head on my chest. We keep on going by this restaurant of some sort and it’s a Chinese restaurant after the therapy session and passing by the restaurant we make it to the fields and our basketball team is there but we’re practicing football. Everybody lies on this big balloon and we watch the kids practice. Nate is the coach this time. father shows up to practice cause he’s never shown up before and he’s talking to Nate. I explained to Nate that he doesn’t want to cooperate and something else and then Nate says well. What are we doing here? Why are we wasting our Time I’m done if you’re done I said Jody‘s done he said OK well I’m gonna go. I guess we’re all done here. He goes up to his dad give him like a hug, and Jen just walks off and starts practicing all of the parents lay on the balloon thing and start watching practice. Father walks off kids are practicing and we talked about getting a new balloon so that the kids can have their own spot. In past dreams, it’s been blue. This time it was red. Sometimes bugs get on the blow up balloon. I always sit next to Denise, a friend of mine.
Dreams can be deeply personal and symbolic, often reflecting our emotions, relationships, and life situations. Here's a possible interpretation of your dream based on the themes and elements you've described:
Therapy Center: This setting may symbolize your desire for healing or resolution regarding your family's dynamics, especially concerning your son's father. The therapy sessions could represent an emotional exploration of issues related to absence, support, and your role as a parent.
Son's Safety: Your son feeling safe when he lays his head on your chest suggests a strong emotional bond and your role as a protector. This might indicate your desire to create a secure environment for him, especially in the face of the challenges posed by his father’s absence.
Lizards and the Terrarium: Lizards often symbolize transformation or the need to adapt. In your case, the lizards escaping might represent feelings of chaos or instability in your life or in the relationships around you. Their defensive behavior (puffing wings) could symbolize resistance to change or fear of confrontation in dealing with your son’s father.
Father’s Absence and Non-Cooperation: This recurring theme indicates ongoing frustration and disappointment regarding the father figure’s involvement in your son’s life. The collective fatigue that you and others express suggests a sense of shared struggle with this situation.
The Restaurant: A Chinese restaurant might represent cultural or familial heritage, comfort, or familiarity. Passing by as you move from therapy to another phase of your life could indicate navigating through different parts of your identity and relationships.
Basketball Practice: The transition from basketball to football and the presence of Nate as a coach may symbolize shifts in your life and the roles people play within it. The idea of practicing indicates preparation for challenges or teamwork, even if it feels unproductive at times. The mention of getting a new balloon for the kids reflects a desire for renewal or providing a better space for the children involved.
The Color of the Balloon: The balloon changing color from blue to red might indicate a shift in emotions or circumstances. Blue often represents calmness and peace, while red can symbolize passion or alertness. This change could suggest that you are moving from a calmer phase to a more intense emotional landscape.
Bugs on the Balloon: Bugs can represent annoyances or distractions in your life or relationships. This detail might highlight the underlying issues that need to be addressed for clarity and peace.
Denise’s Presence: Sitting next to a friend in the dream may represent a need for support and companionship. This could underscore the importance of having a support system as you navigate these challenges.
Overall, your dream seems to express a deep exploration of your feelings about parenting, the challenges of co-parenting with someone who is not fulfilling their role, and the desire for a nurturing and supportive environment for your son. It could be beneficial to reflect on these themes in your waking life and consider the steps you might take to address any unresolved feelings or challenges.
